Tips When Having Fast Foods For Weight Loss

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

By T Kenneath Fast food. A favorite food for most people, we all like it just the same. Some people eat it three meals a day, there is no much difference between a Big Mac and a steak to them. We used to spend a good amount of time away from the house and it was not easy to get a good meal. Most of us today live in a lifestyle like this. For one reason or another, we just don’t have time to prepare a good meal. Here are some things you can get at your local fast food joints that are surprisingly healthy. Of course fast food definitely will not better than a meal that you would cook on your own, but you already know that. If you are going to order a burger, try to get it without the mayo and the cheese. It might not sound like it, but you will cut a lot of fat out just by doing this. In case the sandwich is too dry for you without the mayo, try use mustard or ketchup instead of mayo. This will help it slide down easier. You may think that cheese is made of milk, but not all of it is actually. Some of it is made from cooking oil. There is a hint to differentiate it; cheese that is made from oil will have a different look. It will look orange and oily. Avoid anything with bacon on it. The bacon in fast food joints is very terrible; they really do not cook it. However, they just put it under lights until it gets hot. Keep away from this at all costs. You will save calories and you will be happy you did. That just a few tips when having fast foods. By the way, you can always get some herbal pills like Proactol that can help to bind the fats you eat and make it unabsorbed by your body. How to Get an Interview Call from a Big Company

Monday, July 30th, 2007

By Anandrahi JS To get an interview call you have to enter the job market to hunt for a job. And you must be prepared to work hard for it. Hard work generates opportunities. Get an attractive visiting card printed. In your job search it will not be easy or practical to hand over your Resume to every person you meet. But it is convenient to give your visiting card. Sometimes even our friends don’t know about our skills or qualifications properly. Mention your name, address, e.mail, phone numbers, qualifications, skills in the card. Several good job offers may land in your pocket through friends, relatives or neighbours. They may refer any good opening to you. This is one of the several steps you have to take to get interview calls. Other steps are: a) Read Situations Vacant columns in various newspapers carefully. There are also walk-in interview calls in several advertisements. Just visit the company on the mentioned date and appear for an interview. Also look for vacancy advertisements in special career supplements of a newspaper (which are published every week with the main newspaper). b) See through other employment newspapers. Many magazines also publish vacancy advertisements. c) You may contact reputed placement agencies. But here you have to be very cautious. Many agencies extort money and you never get a good job. Even if there is a good job offer through them they charge a big amount of money. d) There are many websites helping both job seekers and job providers. You can definitely take their help. But be careful not to get in a trap. Never shell out any large amount of money to find a job. e) Many companies don’t advertise if they have a few vacancies. They get the vacancies filled by telling it to their employees or other acquaintances. So whomever we meet we must let that person know about our job requirement. Many offers may land this way. f) If you have a dream to work for some particular companies post your Resume to them every two months. Whenever there is a vacancy you may also be contacted. g) Get your advertisement published in situations wanted columns of two or three prominent newspapers of your area. You may get interview calls from some good companies. Anandrahi Trained thousands of persons to get great jobs, improve personality and achieve goals in business. Sunday, July 29th, 2007

By Andrew Bicknell If you are tired of trying the latest diet fad and getting little or now results then maybe its time you tried the time honored method of losing weight. By a simple increase in your metabolism you can start to burn more calories and actually lose weight without having to starve yourself. The best part of increasing your metabolism is it is the best way to keep the weight of too. Metabolism is basically the rate at which your body burns calories. The higher it goes the more calories it consumes. But how do I do that? you ask. Here are 7 ways that you can increase your metabolism and lose that excess baggage. 1. Sleep more You need at a minimum 8 hours of sleep per night. Studies have been done that show people who sleep less then 8 hours per night have a slower metabolism then those who get in a good nights rest. Also those who do not get enough sleep tend to eat more during the day trying to keep their energy levels up, which is not good when your metabolism has slowed down. 2. Evening exercise As the day progresses our metabolic rate declines so that by the time late afternoon and early evening arrive we are no longer burning calories at the rate we were in the morning. Take a quick walk or do some other form of exercise that revs up your metabolic engine. It doesnt have to be a full blown workout, just get the heart pumping and the blood flowing. 3. Get moving Getting your body moving is a great way to increase metabolism. Go for a walk at lunch instead of surfing the internet at work, take the stairs instead of the elevator, park you car in the space farthest away from the door where you work, things like this will go a long ways towards burning excess calories. 4. Eat some protein Protein helps stabilize the amount of insulin in your bloodstream. Too much or too little insulin can play havoc with your metabolism. 5. Eat more meals The key to increasing your metabolism is keeping a consistent flow of calories throughout the day. Instead of eating three big meals eat 5 or 6 smaller meals during the day. This gives you body a consistent supply of energy all day long. And dont skip meals; this can actually slow down your metabolism. 6. The food you eat Eat nutritious high fiber foods. By eating healthy you give your body the nutrients it needs to run efficiently. In fact it is believed that some foods require so much digestive processing that they actually burn more calories then they contain. 7. Lift some weights Lean muscle mass burns lots of calories. Lifting weights not only shapes your body but as your muscles rebuild and recover after a workout they continue to burn large amounts of calories. This means you can actually lose weight while your are resting. By following these 7 metabolism increasing tips you can turn your body into a fat burning machine. And the best part is no more strange diets that leave you feeling hungry and tired all day long. Beginning Fly Fishing Tip: Choosing Your First Fly Rod, Reel And Fly Line

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

By Stanley Stanton Choosing your first fly rod and reel is very important. You need to have a balanced fly-fishing outfit that will match the type and size of your fish. For example, the fly rod and line need to be the same weight, a #5 weight fly rod and a #5 weight fly line. The weight and length of the fly rod will be printed on the rod just above the handle, it might read: 9-5 weight or 108-5 (108 inches for a 5 weight). The weight of the line will be on the fly line box, a 5-weight could be shown as: WF-5-F, which would be a (Weight Forward), (#5 weight), (Floating fly line). The weight numbers of the fly rod and fly line will go up or down depending on the type and size of flies, fish, and types of waters that the angler is fishing. (A Fly Fishing Tip) You can code mark one end of the fly line with black waterproof marking pen. For example, if you have a 5-weight line just make 5 short marks around the fly line _ _ _ _ _ . If you have a weight 7 make one long line and two shorts ____ _ _ and so on. On Weight Forward lines mark the reel end if the fly line so you dont get confused which end of the line goes on the fly line backing. The common weight range is #3 thru #12. A 10-weight fly rod and line will cast large salt-water flies but is much too heavy for casting small trout flies. A #5 weight balanced outfit will work nicely for a #14 trout fly but will not cast a 3/0 tarpon fly. Purchase a good quality brand name fly reel to match your fly rod and line so everything is balanced. I would also suggest opting for a good quality weight forward (WF) dry fly line, it will last you for years. Also have the sales clerk put the fly line and approximately 50 yards of 20 lb. fly line backing on the fly reel for you. Some sporting goods stores or fly shops may offer a fly-fishing starter package; rod, reel and fly line. This may be a way to go but first, shop around. The next question, what should I pay for my starter outfit? Good question, but remember you get what you pay for, and you owe it to yourself to have the best you can afford. In fly-fishing, quality equipment will reward you in the years ahead. Ask the sales clerks for information about the fly rods they carry, also ask to cast the different brands and sizes of rods. Get other peoples opinions be sure to look at all the popular brands, and make your decision on what feels good to you. Finally, flyfishing is a never-ending learning experience, so enjoy. Lavender Aromatherapy For Stress Relief-Seven Little Known Tips To Feel Better And Live Happier

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

By Monique Evans Aromatherapy is the essential oil portion of the plant that is separated and may be used to stimulate healing in a variety of ways, including stress relief and stress management, anxiety, depression, insomnia, pregnancy, child birth, migraine headaches, muscle soreness, nausea and a number of other health issues. It is best to use Aromatherapy sparingly with a vegetable oil such as olive oil, or sweet almond oil (my favorite). Try to avoid using the essential oil directly on the skin. Aromatherapy can get pretty involved, and you can get quite bogged down with learning a variety of essential oils, so we are going to keep this simple and to the point by focusing on one of the best and safest essential oil - lavender and how you can use it to manage stress. Why lavender? Women love the smell of lavender! It’s perhaps the most popular essential plant oil that is a big favorite of many women for stress management, balance and healing. Its properties are safe, calming and very pleasant. Just what you need to de-stress so you feel serene and think clearly. The purer the quality of lavender you use the better results you will get. You can mix it with lotions, vegetable oils or water. Lavender is great for a number of health benefits, especially, insomnia, depression, stress and anxiety. Here are seven little known ways to use lavender for stress relief Tip one lavender with your bath. Use three to five drops of lavender in your bath when you have a few minutes to take a bath. The essential oil actually seeps into your body and stimulate a feeling of calm and relaxation. If you dont have time for a bath, just mix a few drops of the lavender in your favorite lotions, creams or carrier oil and use it as a moisturizer. Be mindful of what you have to get done after use because it can make you feel sleepy. You can actually make your own lavender moisturizer so you can have it on tap and ready to use whenever you want. Simply buy the lavender plant at your local health food store, blend it with your favorite carrier oil and keep it in a cute little bottle in your bathroom or bedroom. Tip two take five with your lavender eye pillow. Get a basic eye pillow that comes ready made with the lavender scent in the pillow. When you have a few spare minutes, just sit back on the couch and put the pillow over your eyes as you inhale the scent of the lavender and take five. When you are relaxing, remember to take some nice deep breaths and think of five things you are absolutely grateful for in your life. This is a great time to meditate; you will feel calm and re-energized. Think of adding some music therapy as you enjoy your lavender scented eye pillow and enjoying your deep breathing. Get music that will actually slow down your heart rate, classical music is great for this. Tip three lavender at bedtime. Put a few drops of pure lavender oil with distilled water in a spray bottle and shake well. Simply spray the mist on your pillow before you go to sleep. You will be in dreamland very quickly. You can sip a cup of lavender herbal tea prior to going to bed. This will also help you sleep peacefully and get you ready for the day ahead. Tip four- lavender for healing and pain relief. Lavender’s anti- inflammatory properties has great healing power and may quickly assist in the healing process for minor scratches and bruises such as insect bites. I use lavender to wipe my hands during the flu season. Lavender in any form can be great during childbirth to ease the mothers tension, or during pregnancy to alleviate some of the mother’s discomfort. Tip five lavender with your favorite massage. When you have about ten minutes to give yourself self-massage, use lavender in your massage oil and simply work you way from head to toe. This is a great way to say I love you.to you! Of course the other option is to have a willing partner who is kind enough to give you a full head and body massage. Then there is the professional option, where you can either have a massage therapist come to your home or you go to a day spa, or even a stay spa. You can either request the use of lavender with the massage oil or you can bring your own. Tip six lavender neck and shoulder pillow. There are some great aromatherapy neck and shoulder pillow that come with the lavender scent mixed into the ingredients inside the pillow. For tight shoulders and a stiff neck, simply put the pillow in the microwave for two minutes or LESS, please watch this so the pillow does not burn, and make sure it is NOT too warm for you, then simply wrap it around your should and let the heat relax the muscles as the lavender stimulates your nervous system. I do this while I am on the computer or watching TV. Heck, if I get the opportunity I use this around my shoulders while I’m in traffic! It sure stops me from swearing when someone cuts me off. Tip seven - lavender scented candles/diffuser. If you dont have the time to do much of anything to get some lavender into your life, then you can simply get a lavender scented candle and just burn it. My personal favorite is soy candles. Soy is awesome because it burns clean; there is no flakey wax to deal with. It is a lot safer around pets and children because it is plant-based and non-toxic. You can also add a few drops of lavender essential oil to a diffuser and enjoy the calming effects as you inhale. Think of it as mental yoga. 4 Steps to Successful Interviewing

Monday, July 16th, 2007

By Pam Watson Congratulations! You’ve finally moved beyond the pre-screening phase and have landed the job interview! Your resume set the stage to get you in the door, and now here’s your chance to ice the cake. The interview, as you are well aware, is what will either move you towards completion of your goal - - or it will be the last step in a lengthy series of steps you’ve already undertaken. Question: how can you succeed within the interview? Assuming that you’ve appropriately prepared yourself for the interview (personal assessment, company research, mock interview prep - - check out Career Advice page at www.beaconcareermgmt.com for more info), then the interview should be easy. However, despite all of the preparation, even the best falter when sitting down face to face with a hiring manager or human resources staff. It’s one thing to outline who you are on a piece of paper (the resume), it’s something else to actually explain who you are in person and face-to-face with another person. The one question most of us dread having to answer is “Tell me about yourself.” Do they want to know where you previously worked…..or where you were born? I mean, there’s just so many ways to go with that unbelievably dreaded question. Here’s a quick tip: the “tell me about yourself question” is simply asking you to “tell me why you’re sitting here, today, interviewing for this specific job.” That’s it, nothing more. So, what are the 4 steps to succeed within a job interview? The best career advice, as it relates to job interviews, career development, etc., is one that encourages the candidate to creatively customize the steps. So the following steps below apply regardless if you’re seeking a position as an educator or a computer programmer, a manager or a salesclerk. The most important thing to remember is that every interviewer has a particular goal in mind. If you use these 4 steps, then you’re likely to cover all the bases. The four steps specifically deal with how you manage your response to the interviewer’s questions. Did you catch the word “manage” as it was used in the previous sentence? Yes, I’m talking about how you manage the process - - take control of the interview - - successfully ride the wave (so to speak). Let’s face it, you’re not facing the Grand Inquisitor - - it’s an interview, for goodness sake. It’s an interview regarding a very important person - - you! So, when the interviewer asks you a question (i.e., tell me how you handle an angry customer”) here are the four steps, as promised: 1) Provide a brief description of the situation: “One of my customers was unhappy with our XYZ widgets” 2) Add some detail to describe the specific task or role you were assigned to deal with the situation: “I was responsible for dealing directly with our department’s major clients and so, I was charged with turning the situation around for this unhappy customer” 3) Provide one or two key action steps you took to handle the situation: “I contacted the customer directly and requested feedback. I authorized a refund or future discounts to this particular customer.” 4) As a RESULT of your action steps, what happened? “As a result of the refund and discount, the customer increased their orders by 25%” The four steps may be interchangeable - - you describe step 4 (the results) prior to step 1 (the situation), however, the key is to be able to list specific results that were gained. Most importantly, the results have to be tied directly to your action steps. Interviewers are looking for RESULTS, not just generalities (”I think I would make a good employee for your company” or worse yet, “I’m good with customers because I’m a people person”). They need hard facts, verifiable data. And you’re the most qualified candidate who is prepared to give it to them. Good luck with your career management and career search! Author’s Note: More information regarding career management and interviewing skills will be released in an upcoming ebook. Do you have a story to share about your interviewing experiences (dreams or nightmares)? I’d love to hear from you! Send your experience to Pam Watson at pwatson@beaconcareermgmt.com. Bankruptcy Lawyers

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

By Damian Sofsian Bankruptcy lawyers are experts in the laws of bankruptcy. They are the ones capable of helping enterprises discharge their debts. They do this by helping their clients distribute their assets over their creditors or by aiding them in devising a plan on how they can pay their creditors over a period of time. It is the main responsibility of bankruptcy lawyers to explain to their clients the ins and outs of bankruptcy laws. They are the ones who should explain how bankruptcy laws could help certain businesses to recover from bankruptcy and fulfill their obligations. Among the topics they should discuss with their clients are the types of bills that can be eliminated, the allowable extension of payment deadlines and possessions that can be kept by the client. Likewise, they should be the ones to analyze the available options that can be taken by their client, depending on the bankruptcy reported. Basically, there are two types of bankruptcy: voluntary and involuntary. Voluntary bankruptcy is when the debtors and the lawyers are the ones who initiated filing for bankruptcy. Involuntary bankruptcy, on the other hand, is when the creditors and their lawyers file for bankruptcy of a certain enterprise. Bankruptcy lawyers handle two types of proceedings. The first one is liquidation wherein the lawyer is responsible for finding ways on how to distribute the remaining assets of the client to pay off debts. The second one is debtor rehabilitation. This involves getting a legitimate plan on how the debtor can pay off financial obligations using future earnings. The services of bankruptcy lawyers should be availed by companies who are seeing foreclosures. They can be very helpful in finding ways on how such enterprises can eliminate their debts. The easiest way to find bankruptcy lawyers is to search the Internet. There are sites that feature available bankruptcy lawyers. This is particularly applicable for clients in the United States. There a number of sites that post information regarding bankruptcy lawyers located in different states of the said country. Bankruptcy Lawyers provides detailed information on Bankruptcy Lawyers, Bankruptcy Lawyers In California, New York Bankruptcy Lawyers, Florida Bankruptcy Lawyers and more.
